In December 2004/January 2005 Shim Eunjin split with Baby VOX, a kpop group she had been a member of since 1998. Eunjin made the decision after a lot of thinking and decided that it would be best for her personal growth to split with Baby VOX when her contract was up. She had been absent from many Baby VOX activities before her announcement, causing a number of rumours about her disappearance. She finally came forth with her seperation announcement, to the dismay of millions of fans.

After a press conference, Eunjin was not seen in the entertainment world for quite some time. She was then cast as the MC for three Korean TV Shows and made numerous appearances on a few TV shows such as Heroine Six Girls Show, Love Letter and Time Machine. However, these appearances soon died down and many fans feared that Eunjin had disappeared and would not make a comeback in either acting or singing. No news was heard of Eunjin for quite some time until, one day, fans all around the world recieved news of her solo debut!

In December of 2005, Eunjin made it know that her comeback was soon! On December 18th, 2005, her TV Comeback was broadcast and her first solo album, 'Zeeny's' was released on December 15th! The style of the album is very different from the style she had with Baby VOX. Her solo album songs are filled with a R&B, jazzy, loungy, laid back style. Eunjin has taken the nickname Zeeny as a symbol of her new self. Zeeny comes from the pronunciation of her name. Jin is pronounced Jeen, which can also be pronounced as Zeen, hence Zeeny. Fans waited anxiously for this album and were not disappointed.

In November of 2006, Eunjin launched her own clothing and style line. The line is called Z'BAGO, which comes from Z for Zeeny and "BAGO" for Tobago, the name of islands in the Caribbean. Z'BAGO is quite a popular brand and continues to recieve acclaim.

For a time Eunjin was appearing on various TV shows, designing and modeling for Z'BAGO and working on her second album.

In August of 2007, Eunjin was cast in the historical drama, "Dae Jo Young". She played a mute warrior. She gained much exposure in this role and many fans tuned in each week to see her act.

When her Dae Jo Young character was killed, Eunjin was then cast in a new drama, "Life Special Investigation Team". Eunjin plays the role of Joo Kangi, a meticulous and shrewd insurance investigator who has five years of experience, in Life Investigation Team. She has a love triangle with Um Ki Jun and Kim Heung Soo. Joo Kangi is a terrible workaholic, very fussy about everything and appears to ignore men. So far, the drama is a hit for Eunjin.

Eunjin also has plans to record still a second album, although those plans have been put on hold for her new drama. Eunjin has been a staple in the entertainment world and promises to continue to dazzle fans!
